PAYMENT
It is policy of the city of New York to pay its bills promptly. The Procurement Policy
Board Rules generally require that the city pay its bill within 30 days after that receipt
of a proper invoice. the city pays interest on any late invoice after the expiration of a
15-day "grace" period. There are certain types of payments that are not eligible
for interest; these are listed in section 6 -07 of the Procumbent Policy Board Rules. the
Comptroller and OMB determine the interest rate on late payments every six months, in
January and July of each year.
